The outside surfaces of a cube are painted. The cube is cut up into small cubes with edges of length one. Investigate the number of faces painted on the small cubes. The outside surfaces of a cube are going to be painted. The cube will be broken up into smaller cubes. The cubes will have different numbers of painted faces depending on where they are situated in the bigger cube. I will start by investigating a 2x2x2 cube then move on to look at different sizes e.g. 3x3x3, 4x4x4. I will then record my results in a table to see if I can find any patterns.
