In this course work I'll be looking at rigid structures such as cubes and cuboids. I will start with cube because it is the easiest 3d shape. I will draw some cubes (i.e. 1 by 1 by 1, 2 by 2 by 2 and 3 by 3 by 3) on a paper and then try to find formulas for total number of joints and for different types of joints (i.e. 3-joints, 4-joints, 5-joints and 6-joints. There are no 7-joints or more in a cube). I will also add the formulas of different types of joints and see if they add up to the formula for total number of joints, this will make sure that the formulas I have got are correct. I have drawn the cubes and placed the data in the table below.
