The aim of the investigation is to find out a formula for calculating total number of hidden faces in any number of cubes. I will set up a table to show how the number of hidden faces as you increases the number of cubes and placing the cubes different ways. I have worked out there the cubes can be placed in 4 four ways. I did this by taking some cubes and placing in lots of different ways. There are the following: Cubes Hidden Faces 1 1 2 3 3 5 4 7 5 9 6 11 7 13 As you increase the number of cubes the hidden faces increased by 2. So I new the formula something 2n= the number of cubes So if it was two cubes then it will be: 2 * 2 = 4 but that was wrong it was 3. If the number of cubes was three then it will be: 2 * 3 = 6 but it was 5 not 6 If the number of cubes was four...
