There were three areas of Rural Kenya that we studied, below each area are described and are compared with the other areas in rural Kenya. Area 1: Village small holding: Social features: Living there is very hard because there are no basic amenities (basic needs for example running water) and houses are made form mud. One family we looked at had seven children living in a mud hut and went to boarding school. Had only 2 sleeping hut. No electric or gas so relied on wood for fire etc. In Kenya there are some very dangerous animals so to protect them from them they have to build there houses on stilts, high enough so that nothing could reach them. The food that they would eat would be awful for example for breakfast they would have porridge, mage and maybe some tea. In this country it is normally the husbands job to go...
