How can I make My local Area Sustainable? Sustainability is when any economic activity without causing permanent harm to the environment. My ideas for changing my local area from one of dense housing to one, which includes extensive recreation facilities are outlined below. At present the area is shown on the map is one of mixed housing - based around three main estates. Each estate has minimum recreational facilities but a continuous and growing number of families with young children. Any recreational facilities require travel (usually by car) to other areas - surely not a good idea these days of limited resources. I added the Play Areas because at the moment, although the area on the map is almost entirely given over to housing in one form or another, there is only one small playground.
