Maths Statistics Coursework Hypothesis 1. The average height and weight for boys is greater than for girls. 2. My other hypothesis is that there will be a positive correlation between height and weight e.g. the taller you are the more you weight. Number of pupils There is an un-equal spread of boys and girls form year 7-11. When I choose my sample I must take this into account. I am going to choose 100 pupils out of the 1183 pupils attending Mayfield High school. To do this I will have to multiply every total in table A by 100/1183 (=0.0845) and get the values in table B. Selection of Pupils I then had to choose these totals at random. I did this by using the random key on my calculator.
