Maths Coursework 2004 - Statistics Aim The aim of this coursework project is to investigate the heights and weights of 50 Males and 50 Females in the between the ages of 12 - 14. Method I was given a list of 531 names and from these names I had to choose 100 people, 50 male and 50 Females. This meant that my population for my first sample was all the males I years 8 and 9 and that my population for my second sample was all the girls in years 8 and 9. To select these names, I used a systematic selection. I chose every other person within the list. This did not result in a biased selection as all the names in the list were alphabetical so all the heights and weights would be random within my selection.
