ABSTRACT The aim of my observation is to find out if there is any gender differences in the number in a group at the vending machine and the behaviour when making a purchase. These differences will be placed into categories, as results will be recorded throughout the duration of the day. I used is an opportunity sample of 6th Form students at Wreake Valley Community College. My results show that the female participants had a realistic view on how healthy their purchase was or was not in comparison to the male participants, who did not take it seriously and overstated how healthy their purchase was.
