Introduction This is a statistical piece of coursework which tries to look at whether or not their exist a relationship amongst certain variables from a fictitious school called Mayfield High. I will set about carrying out various test in order to come up with a seeming solution to my prior hypothesis. Hypothesis: Boys are academically better than girls. Variables: Gender, IQ and KS3 Results namely English, Maths and Science. I will create a new variable which combines all three KS3 results and call it average KS3 results. Methodology: 1. I will first break down the analysis between the population and the sample. 2. I will test them both by looking at Line graphs, scatter graphs, cumulative frequency curves and box plots. 3. The sample will be selected using a stratified random sampling technique. 4. I will clearly state all my limitations before drawing a necessary conclusion.
