Investigation on the shape and size of limpets on a sheltered rocky shore called Frenchman's steps beach. PLANNING: Aim: To investigate the height and base of limpets at two different vertical heights from chart datum, on a sheltered rocky shore. Introduction: The aim of this experiment is to determine whether there is a difference between the height and width of the limpets, at 2 different points on a beach profile in their vertical range. Limpets are distinctive animals, which have oval shaped shell; with the peak more-or-less near the centre they are best known for their ability to cling onto rocks. Limpets are species, which come from the super kingdom, called Eukaryotea, and followed by the kingdom called Animalia down to the phylum called Mollcusca and finally it is part of the class called Gastropods, (14.4).
