Investigating Falling Objects Hypothesis I predict that when you increase the weight of a paper case by adding paperclips, the speed in which the object falls at will also increase. This is due to the greater mass, which increases the weight therefore the paper case will have a higher terminal velocity. Terminal velocity is the maximum speed when the force, which is trying to speed up on an object, is in balance with the forces that are trying to resist it. In this experiment the terminal velocity is affected by the mass of the object and it's wind resistance. Prediction Graph of results Apparatus Ruler Stopwatch String Weights Paper clips Paper cases Method * Prepare your apparatus by tying a piece of string to a pipe (above the ground), then tie a weight to the end of the string on the floor so it is taught. * Get a ruler and mark on the string, the points at 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m and 2m. *...
