Tina Qiu 29th January 2003 Mayfield High School Investigation Plan For my statistics coursework, I am going to investigate the height to weight ratio in terms of body mass index and how year group or gender may affect it. My hypothesis is that the taller a person is then the heavier they are in terms of their weight to height ratio. In addition to that, as the year group increases the greater their height to weight ratio will be, this may also be affected by gender. The reason for this may be because as people grow older they will need more food to supply the energy they need and boys tend to need more energy than girls as age progresses as they are more taller and perhaps are more active.
