I hypothesise that performance in the Under 20 age range in the UK is markedly below the rest of Europe. I came to this conclusion because if you examine the quality and number of competitors in Europe they are better in not only number but also quality i.e. the total weight lifted. It may be that this is due to drug taking on the continent and that if we adopted the same angle we would do better. Another reason that is probably better for all concerned the Europeans are better is due to scientific scouting and an intensive training program including scientific training including help for BioMechanics scientists and other highly trained people. The weight lifters are also better funded and don't have to have another job to subsidise their training. This means that consequently the Europeans, on the whole, perform better.
