Data handling Coursework Introduction In this investigation I am going to compare the weight and height of students from years 7and 11. I am going to look at the database on Mayfield high school. The sheets I was given, had information containing the names, gender, height and weight of students in years 7 to 11. The list was also in alphabetical order. We have chosen to work with a sample size of 30 students, 15 girls and 15 boys. We had to choose between 5 different methods to choose our samples, these were: - Systematic sampling Quarter sampling Cluster sampling Stratified sampling Random sampling I have chosen to use the random sampling method. To use this method I need to know some information on students at Mayfield high school. E.g., number of students in yrs 7 and 11 and number of boys and girls.
