It is unusual for a newspaper to publish an article by a child as young as James. Why do you think the editor of the Independent decided to publish both articles as companion pieces? This is an article from the Independent newspaper. We know this because at the end of the piece it has Independent 1995 and the first piece written by Celia Dodd. Dodd is a reporter for the Independent. Then the second report is from a boy called James Bateson who is just starting his article tells us of his anxieties of stating school. Celia's piece backs up James. The words Big school big trauma build up suspense for the new boys and also the parents because they will want to know what the trauma is.
