GCSE MATHS COURSEWORK David Burns Year 12 December 2003 Introduction I will be comparing two papers, 'The Times' and, 'The Daily Mail'. Firstly I will record how many pages belong to each section, for example: 1) The News pages 2) The Sports pages 3) The Business pages 4) The Entertainment pages 5) And Other pages I will then count up the total amount of pages in each of the papers. Then I will go on to look at the number of letters in a word, the number of syllables in a word and finally look at the sentence length. I will carry out the Fogg readability test for each of the papers to find the English reading age. After this has been done I will then go on and analyse both of the papers individually, then I will look at them both together and do a comparison.
