Analysis of Text A from Question 1 in Booklet 3 Text A, unlike all the rest, talks about fish and chips in a positive manner and therefore I have decided to analyse this text from all four. The speaker immediately begins the topic of fish and chips by expressing his delight to remembering the best fish and chips he has had by using a superlative adjective - 'best'. The speaker carries on hastily into using the personal pronoun 'I' to show that this is his opinion. Following this, he stumbles upon the adverb 'ever' which modifies the verb 'had'. The adverb 'ever' suggests that this is the best fish and chips he has ever had before or after tasting them. As he explains where these fish and chips came from, he adds the fact that he had the fish and chips on a 'winter nights'. The adjective 'winter' adds more...
