Rachael Allis GCSE mathematics coursework Emma's dilemma Tiers I + H In this investigation I will be investigating how many times you can arrange the letters in names to make different combinations. Firstly I shall investigate how many arrangements there are for the name Emma. For example one arrangement is: EMMA A different one is: MEAM And another is AEMM I shall continue writing out the different combinations until I have all the arrangements possible. Next I shall do the same for the name Lucy. I will then see if I can see any differences in the amount of arrangements between the 2 names. I will carry on the investigation looking at names with different amounts of letters in them; these names will have no repeated letters.
