The events of November 1923 changed the political views of Hitler and the policies of the Nazi Party. Before the Putsch Hitler was known locally and only in Bavaria. He was a member of the Bavarian Party but he was not a national figure. This was a significant reason for the Putsch's failure. However, there are also many things which didn't change. Hitler had been arrested and his trial received large amounts of publicity which meant that Hitler's fame spread to parts of Germany where he was not well known. As a result, support for the Nazis continued to grow. In prison Hitler was treated as a political prisoner. There he had a lot of time to think and he wrote a
