Samip Doshi AP U.S. History 9/5/07 Social and political tension illustrated growing problems in colonial America. The 1600-1778 were a turbulent time period and it was a time period of rapid social, political, economic, militaristic, and philosophical & ideological changes. People were growing restless of Europe's powerful fist crushing the colonies of valuable rights and liberties. People started to banish the British out of colonial towns after a series of acts known as the intolerable acts were passed. This was too much; Britain had gone overboard with the policies and laws governing the colonies. The colonies had no representation and were taxed unfairly. The only option left open was a revolution, a revolution so powerful that the world would be taken aback, and on the eve of July 2nd 1776, when we fought bravely against the greatest empire in the world with staggering odds against us that no one could possible endure,...
