Why did the Whitechapel murders attract so much attention? In this essay I am going to be talking about why the Whitechapel murders attracted so much attention. I will be talking about why people were, and still are interested buy jack the ripper and why the media promoted the incident. There are numerous reasons of why the Whitechapel murders attracted so much attention. Firstly one reason was the nature of the murders; no one had ever seen or heard about such violent, savage attacks, this intrigued the community, making them want to know more. People heard about the extent to which the victims were harmed and suspense grew with every time the murderer got away, nobody knew if or when the killer would strike again! The interest in the murders grew with each attack, because of the frequent continuation of the killing and the failure of the police catching the culprit....
