I and some historians would not agree with the statement of women winning the right to vote due to the 'war effort'. Well it's all 50% between the war effort and the suffragist and suffragette acts and campaigns that were active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The NUWSS and the WSPU had suspended their campaigns when the men went to war, the women could take over their places at jobs that were seen only fit for men.
