Thursday 14^th June 2001 806 Vikki Stonehouse Having studied the map and written evidence who in your own opinion should be held mostly responsible for the defeat of the 3^rd century cavalry on June 25^th 1876. On June 25^th 1876 General George Armstrong Custer and 225 men of the U.S. 7^th cavalry were wiped out by Sioux Indians, led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, at the battle of the Little Big Horn. It was the worst defeat suffered by the U.S. army in the wars against Indians. There are a lot of variations of what people say happened in this essay I want to hopefully awnser the question who in my opinion should be held mostly responsible for the defeat of the 3^rd century cavalry on June 25^th 1876.
