On June 25^th 1876 General George Armstrong Custer and 225 men of the U.S. 7^th cavalry were wiped out by Sioux Indians, led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, at the battle of the Little Big Horn. It was the worst defeat suffered by the U.S. army in the wars against Indians.
