During the Second World War, the policy of evacuation had a major impact on the host families as they had to have people such as the blind, disabled and children in there homes for many months. This is supported by source 14 the source tells us that it was a bad experience because children were filthy, some hadn't had a bath for months. Some evacuees had scabies and a majority had it in their hair and others had dirty sores all over their bodies. The mothers were mostly bed-wetters, evacuees clothes were in terrible condition. There was hardly a child with a whole pair oh shoes and most children walked round bare footed. The source backs up my knowledge because it shows that a lot of evacuees came from slum conditions, however it doesn't back my knowledge because some of the evacuees had came from rich families.
