Question 1 Which of these 2 sources (A and C) would an historian studying the effects of the Blitz on the British people find most useful? The sources come from two different time frames and make some different points but they can both be useful to the historian. Source A was written in 2003 a long time after the Second World War and is an extract from 'Britain in the Blitz' a booklet published by Pitkins guides. These are brief, simple booklets sold in museum gift shop and used mainly by tourist so their information value might be comprised by the need to over simplify their content and arguments for the general reader. This could be why, for instance, Source A only shows the positive side of the British peoples attitude during the Blitz using encouraging word like 'heroic' and 'courage'.
