1. Did Roosevelt's upbringing, background and character make it easy for him to understand the real concerns and fears of ordinary Americans? In some ways Roosevelt's background did help him understand the real fears and concerns of ordinary Americans but in some ways it did not help him. There are two sides to this argument as many historians have found out. Roosevelt was a young wealthy boy born on January 30th 1882 at Hyde Park New York into a well established northeastern family. He was an only child of a stable loving family. He was tutored in his home until the age of 14 by European governors who taught him French and German. After Roosevelt's educational studies at his home he soon goes to attend several excellent educational institutes. In 1905 he married Eleanor Roosevelt; she played an excellent role in his political career. He entered politics in 1910 and was elected...
