In the play 'Much Ado About Nothing', written by the well known play writer William Shakespeare. He has created many central themes in his play; such as love, marriage, honour and deception. The theme of deception is mainly featured in Act Four, Scene One, also known as the wedding scene. There three main deceptions, a major ado, a minor ado and finally a deception. The first deception is about Claudio dishonouring Hero because of Don John's spiteful plot to break up their relationship. The second deception is about Beatrice and Benedick admitting they are in love thanks to their friend as they made lies to bring the two together. The final deception is based on the friar telling Hero to say that she is deceased to get Claudio to come back for her and to prove her innocence.
