Lamb To The Slaughter Roald Dahl's short story "Lamb To The Slaughter" is about Mary Maloney and Patrick Maloney. Mary Maloney loves her husband greatly but one day when he comes home from work he tells her something bad. She pretends that he had never said anything to her which makes him snap at her. She then hits him across the head with a frozen leg of lamb and kills him. She then pretends that it never happened and goes to the shops. When she comes home she phones the police then gives the leg of lamb to the police to eat. Roald Dahl is quite subversive in his writing because he has twists in his stories like in "Lamb To The Slaughter" you would never suspect Mrs Maloney to be a killer.
