EMMA ESSAY I believe that throughout the course of the book, Emma's likeability changes several times, but at the end of the book she sees the error of her ways and comes across as a much more likeable person. She is seen at the start as a very controlling and manipulative person but as the novel goes on she does improve and Emma realises what she is doing and what effect it is having on other people. Although she slips up on several occasions and she is unable to control herself, I think these incidents were vital to make her more likeable after she tries to make amends for her mistakes. Emma's likeability is usually reflected by what other character she is with. Emma is when compared to Mrs Elton a very likeable character and, despite some similarities between them, Mrs Elton very cleverly brings out the best in Emma. Emma and...
