Comparing and Contrasting "The Bath" and "A Small Good Thing" "The Bath" by Raymond Carver is an example of minimalism. The story shows no human remorse or emotions. The writing was dry and did not describe situations or actions in detail. Instead of details and describing human emotions, situations were simply just stated. "The barest information, nothing that was not necessary." (Carver, pg. 87) As for the story "A Small Good Thing" the story is an example of a good story filled with information, detail and human emotions. Though the story line is the same as The Bath, the writing style is very different. In "A Small Good thing" Carver writes in detail about everything the characters were doing or going through.
