THE STRAGE CASE OF Dr. JEKYLL AND MR HYDE. The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is one of the most famous examples of literature. The novella focuses on split personalities and use of variety of techniques. It was written by Robert Louis Stevenson, as a short novel. It is about awell-respected lawyer in London who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll and the evil Edward Hyde. Dr Jekyll an intelligent and well respected man who transforms into the evil man Hyde and murders people. The story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was first published in the late Victorian era (1886) and this was the time when privacy and reputation was vitally important. Also this story is in 'respectable' Victorian London and it has the wealth of Victorian society. It is set in the genre of suspense, mystery and a kind of gothic theme....
