... Discuss the media techniques in 'Frankenstein' in order to convey meaning. 'Frankenstein', the novel was written in the nineteenth century, by a nineteen-year-old called Mary Shelley. Whilst on holiday with her husband Percy Shelly and a few friends, Lord Bryon a companion of the couple suggested that they all wrote a horror story. So in 1815 Mary Shelly began writing 'Frankenstein and by spring of the following year, the novel was already a published and selling well. The novel became a huge success but it was a century later before a movie was made. 'Frankenstein ' hit Holly wood in 1910, but it was not until 1931 that Frankenstein became a movie hit. The movie was produced by Universal Studios and linked in with the concerns of the time, as at this time it was the depression. The character of Frankenstein looked like a victim of the depressions as he wore rough
