Compare how Frankenstein and the monster are compared in chapters 5 and 10 In this essay I am going to compare differences and similarities to how Frankenstein and the monster are presented in chapters 5 and 10. In chapter 5 Mary Shelley illustrates the birth of Frankenstein's creature which he has desired for so long. This is shown in the line 2 where it says "An anxiety that almost amounted to agony" Her choice of words shows how Frankenstein's anxiety and hunger for the successful birth of the creature is almost painful for him. Although, despite Frankenstein's desperation and want for the life of his creature, his mood soon changes and he develops hatred towards his creation. Frankenstein describes the moment as catastrophic which gives the impression to the reader that things are going wrong and haven't turned out the way which he planned them to.
