Have a little read: ... Lewis Swires Coursework H.G Wells' 'The Time Machine' With this book, the author, in my opinion, influenced many of today's science fiction, as this book was written in 1895, this book was the first stepping stone for the thousands of novels, films and stories to come. Science fiction, which is often confused with Fiction Fantasy, is something, which scientifically could happen (e.g. time travel, aliens, robots etc...). Where as Fiction fantasy is something that will not happen (e.g. lord of the rings, Harry Potter etc...). A good example of a science fiction story could be the Terminator trilogy, these intrigued audiences because, although a little far fetched, the plot (a computer system rebelling against humans and causing an atomic war), could have a slight chance of happening. I feel that this has made people want to watch it, as it seems to be more interesting seeing something like this, than a straight
