Mode: written Audience: the reader, however he character is talking to himself Context: past into present. Register: semi-formal. He addresses himself taking an informal tone but the speech is formal. Setting: in the characters mind Characters: himself and himself. One side of his mind talking about the other. Past tense An overtone of suspense. Schizophrenia my problem not his. He's watching now, everything I do he knows about, I can keep nothing from him he sees what I see. I can feel him at the back of my mind, trying to set himself free. But I won't let him, he can't succeed, I won't be put in his place. He thinks this is his mind, his body, he thinks he is the only one. I know what he wants, he wants control, I have control but I don't know how long I can hold on.
