What our users think of the By Author essays in this section:
"well presented essay"
apeks
"A good attempt of the question posed, and you have thought of many reasons why Tess can be seen as a victim. You have analysed the question in detail, and have thought about what is meant by 'that's the law'. Your writing is quite formal and sophisticated, which shows that you have understood the novel. Quotes from the novel need to be included, so that you can refer directly to the text. This is a very short piece of work, so much more would need to gain a high mark. There are some spelling errors and punctuation issues which need to be addressed.

"A poor effort"

"You have clearly expressed your opinion, and have stated numerous reasons why you feel this way. The quotes you have used back up your points, and you have obviously thought about your answers very much. You have considered the other side of the argument, however a few more points on this would have made this piece of work better. Obviously, you think that George was right to kill Lennie, but do you sympathise with either of them? Was George's main motivation the fact that Lennie had commited a crime and needed to be punished, or do you think he was trying to save Lennie because he knew that Lennie was innocent at heart?
