Edward Mantle Comparative Essay Looking at the poems from the Tracks Anthology, I have decided that the three poems that I will be investigating in this comparative piece are "Old Man, Old Man", "Half-Past Two" and "Not My Best Side". All of these poems are written by the English poet, U.A.Fanthorpe, they do however follow no particular theme such as school, relationships or other subjects relevant to life. These poems were chosen from the anthology not only because of the fact that they were more enjoyable in comparison to other poems in the anthology such as "Telephone Conversation", which although it strikes up controversial issues, is dull and uninteresting; or "Reports" also by U.A.Fanthorpe. However they were all written by the same poet. This might appear to be interesting to cover in a comparative piece such as this, because it might show a selection of differences, if any, in U.A.Fanthorpes style
