Carley Jones 11N English - Mrs Astley Poetry Comparison of Out, Out- by Robert Frost and Mid-Term Break by Seamus Heaney This comparison compares the two poems, 'Out, Out-' by an American poet, Robert Frost and 'Mid-Term Break' by Seamus Heaney, an Irish poet. The themes of both poems is the death of a child. Even though they are both about the death of a child, they still differ quite a lot. Mid-Term Break is written as first person perspective and autobiographical by the eldest brother whereas, Out,Out- is third person narrative. Another difference between the two poems is that in Out, Out- the boy is alive in the beginning of the poem but dies throughout it - the poem is about him dying but in Mid-Term Break, the boy is already dead and you witness the happenings of after his death. In Mid-Term Break the boy is surrounded byb his family and family
