Choose a poem in which the poet creates a picture of a heroic or corrupt figure. Discuss the means by which the personality is clearly depicted. In your answer you must refer closely to the text and to at least two of imagery, tone, rhyme, word choice or any other other appropriate feature. The poem "Daddy" by Sylvia Plath creates a character that can be seen as both heroic and corrupt. The narrator's father is shown to be a harsh, strong man, who the narrator both looked up to, and perhaps feared. Throughout the poem, Plath uses imagery to show the kind of man he is, and images that she associates with him. Her word choice also depicts the kind of man that he was, and his views and influence on her. In the first line, and all the way through the poem, the word "you" is repeated. This is significant...
