An analysis of three advertisements for watches The watch market is a gigantic business in the modern society. 4.5 million pounds worth of watches are purchased every year in the United States alone. Many people are influenced by advertisements as practically everything we purchase is bought to us in some form of advertising; whether it is the promotional packaging or the strategic placement on the supermarket shelves. I am going to be analysing three advertisements for watches; I will analyse the ways the advertisers have tried to dispose of their products and comment on how effectively they have done this. The three brand names of the watches under review are: CHANEL, PANERAI, and TAG HEUER. The first advertisement I have chosen to analyse is the CHANEL advertisement. The CHANEL advertisement has a simply sophisticated flowery background to match the face of the watch. There is not much copy except for the CHANEL logo...
