The main characters are Gordie Lachance, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp and Vern Tessio. 4 young friends set out on an adventure. Gordie, Chris, Vern and Teddy travel to go look for the missing body of a local teenager, found by a gang of much older boys. Gordie Lachance feels compelled to travel with three friends to see a dead body that has been found near the railway tracks.
