Romeo And Juliet Essay 'Examine the different views of love presented in Romeo and Juliet. In what way is the play about love in a richer sense than we might suppose?' "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare is a mixture of tragedy and love. Most often, love can be seen as affection between a man and women. This play's plot is about Romeo and Juliet's love affair; however this romantic love is not the only type of love present. In the beginning of the play, Romeo has not yet met Juliet and he is in love with someone else, Rosaline. Looking at the language Shakespeare has used, such as rhyming couplets and oxymoron, and how he has portrayed this love through the eyes of Romeo, the modern day audience might see this love as somewhat artificial and his reactions as exaggerated and immature.
