... Hamlet plans throughout the play, to exact his revenge on Claudius. Examine the different stages through which he passes. Throughout the whole play we see a continued variant of emotions through which Hamlet passes through. These emotions vary from him wanting full blooded revenge, to him even contemplating his existence in the world. Hamlet is not the only character in the play who wants revenge. Shakespeare presents Laertes, Claudius, and Fortinbras as revenge characters. All of these characters revenge is contained in a sub plot, played out along side the main plot, which is Hamlet wanting revenge on Claudius. Each revenge character has is own motive and causes for revenge. As the play progresses we develop an understanding as to why these characters require the fatal act of revenge. Hamlet is different is different from the other revenge characters, as the audience can see he is a thinker and a well educated
