This play was set in 1895, and is based in London. The story revolves around the antics of two friends with imaginary acquaintances whom they use to escape family commitments. Both men are in love with girls who will only marry a man named, Ernest. And as time goes on, they find them selves in great confusion when one (Algernon) chooses to make the other's (Jack's) fake brother into a reality.
