Recent Reviews of Oscar Wilde Essays
What our users think of the Oscar Wilde essays in this section:
"There are some very astute and in depth analyses of two of what the author thinks are major themes in this book. However, because the essay lacks a title, the essay lacks focus and instead of reading like an argument or progression of thoughts, reads more like a description of homosexuality and aestheticism in the novel. I think the importance placed on homosexuality in the essay is undeserved. Although admittedly there were homoerotic themes in the book, there was never anything explicit. The author takes this theme as if it is obvious and glaring. The points he raised were admittedly intelligent and astute, but missing out on its hidden nature in the book makes me think that the writer has read too much into it. However, the links to context at the time were integrated well.

"A lot of spelling mistakes, and a lack of punctuation. Simplistic comments on the play which which show the student has not really understood the play."
