A view from the Bridge 'A view from the Bridge' is a play written by the author Arthur Miller. The play is set in Red Hook, a part of New York full of Italian Americans who people struggle to make a living. The Play is about an 'Italian family' living in the city of New York. The family contains of Eddie, Beatrice and Beatrice niece Catherine. The family later are accompanied by two of Beatrice relatives Marco & Rodolpho who came to America from Italy to settle down. They couldn't come to America as legal immigrants so they came illegally. They had to travel a long way in the cargo hold of boats. So they only alienated their boats in the night to avoid being seen by anyone. They carried forged Papers and were called 'Submarines' due to the way they entered the country.
