Bagging a total of 3 awards and 9 nominations, Ms Coppola certainly made her name as a director. The latter did not fail to mention that without her perfectly selected cast, this film wouldn't be a success. Kirsten Dunst plays Lux and brilliantly balances the innocence and wickedness of her character while Josh Hartnett is Trip Fontaine, high school's bad boy who unsurprisingly falls in love with Lux. One of the best performances in this film is that of James Woods who plays Mr. Lisbon, the girls' distant father and allows himself to be dominated by his strict wife (Kathleen Turner).
