Critical Evaluation Letter to Daniel Fergal Keane's letter to his son Daniel is a non-fiction text that was broadcast to the nation on a BBC radio programme. This is a very emotional piece which feels very private and is very personal. It is an account of Keane's feelings towards his new born son and how it ha changed his outlook on life. The text had a very powerful impact on me and evoked many deep emotions such as helplessness and sadness but also a strong feeling of hope. Over the rest of this essay I am going to discuss how Keane successfully uses techniques such as imagery, language, word choice and setting to trigger such emotions.
