J.B Priestley wrote "an inspector calls" in 1947 a play that shows the troubles between the upper and lower classes. Throughout the play he uses many dramatic devices to put across his strong political views to the audience. In this essay I will be analysing how Priestley uses dramatic devices through out the beginning and the end of the play to voice his thoughts about the year 1912. 1912, the year the play was set in, the country was ruled by capitalism, the conflicts between the upper and lower classes were at an all time high. The upper class were enjoying their life with money whilst the lower class were left to suffer with little amounts of money. Working conditions in 1912 were very poor and dangerous; workers worked long hard hours with very little wages that were enough to just about keep them alive. Even though the labourers went on...
