Soon I will jump to the buzzes of the alarm. I wait patiently for the moments to pass by, until Fran stirs from her slumber. Then, she'll shower me with the attention I deserve. It's almost time. Now! The awful sounds radiate from the fluorescent red numbers. Finally, Fran puts her ten toes onto the gray carpet. My long time companion and cohort, Black Dog, still lies motionless on his back. His paws jut into the darkness above the bed, while he squints to block out the light shining through the door from the hallway. No matter, I am one with Fran's shadow. Always following. Watching. Waiting. Waiting for her...
